The Sestiere of Castello in Venice is an outpost of authenticity, history and tradition. Right here, you’ll find our family restaurant, Al Vecio Portal. Since 1986, we have been welcoming our guests just a few bridges away from St. Mark’s Square, the Gardens of the Biennale, and the historic Arsenal of Venice. In the shade of the secret garden, or in one of the indoor dining rooms, we serve very fresh fish every day, as much as possible from the Lagoon and in season. Sometimes, our Sicilian roots emerge in our dishes, sometimes our passion for the East, and other times the tradition of the city in which we live.
We also have another passion: spontaneously fermented wine. Since we discovered the various benefits it brings, we have converted our wine list into a collection of labels that speak of flavor enhancement, respect for the territory, and artisanal knowledge.
